Wantable – January 2015

I found a this-is-too-good-to-be-true deal a few weeks back where I was able to get the Wantable Box for only… DRUM ROLL PLEASE… FIVE DOLLARS!!! If you know subscription boxes, you know that this box runs for $36!!! I just could not let that deal go! So, I signed up immediately for both the Makeup and Intimates box!

Yay! They arrived within a week, which is beyond crazy! So here is what I got:

Let’s start with the makeup, shall we?!

I love the eyeshadow. It’s a beautiful green tinted brown. It works well for everyday wear. I’ve been wearing the complexion powder pretty frequently in place of foundation because it is super light. I had been dying to try Frankie Rose for a while, so I loved seeing the eye pencil in my box. It leaves really crisp, clean lines! The Lord & Berry lipstick pencil is gorgeous! It’s a perfect pale pink and is so creamy! I really loved my box! Overall, the retail of this box would have been $81! Since I only paid $5, I literally feel like I stole these products! Even for $36 the value is pretty darn good! I hadn’t planned to continue a subscription with Wantable, but I think I am for the makeup!

I wasn’t exactly “impressed” with my intimates box, but I also didn’t hate it. I really wish I hadn’t received a shapewear tank because that isn’t something I really need. Also, the bra and undies both weren’t made of the best quality, in my opinion. I definitely think I will be sticking with my Victoria’s Secret. This box would retail for roughly $79. I can’t locate an exact price on the tank. I wasn’t planning to keep this box either, but I posted it to the Wantable app and won a free box for the month of February! So I’ll keep it for now. Maybe I’ll like my next box more!

Wantable is semi-customizable. You’re given a bunch of categories and options and they cater the box to your liking!

All in all, I have to say that the makeup box is fantastic. All four products are high end and definitely worth the price tag of $36. As of right now, I wouldn’t recommend the intimates box, but if you’re looking for something different it may be a good starting point!

Marbles for Polish, mani of the moment!

As we all know, I am really big into nail polish (as seen by my abundance of Julep orders). Along with my Julep addiction, I have a slight addiction to Indie polish. Indies are polishes made my small independent companies. Most of the time, these polishes come from one or two single people who formulate, create, market, and sell their own product straight from their homes. One of my favorite Indie brands is Marbles for Polish!

These two polishes that I will be featuring today are from Marbles for Polish. The one is a OOAK (One of a Kind) and the other is a group custom polish made specifically for the company’s Facebook group, Marbles For Polish and More, called Keepsies.

The polish on the left is the OOAK. It is a multichrome. The color of this polish shifts from a dark blue, to green, to purple, depending on the way the light hits it. The polish on the right is the group custom, Keepsies. It is a gorgeous teal holo! I am loving both so much! (Please ignore the old, gross mani in the picture of the bottles!)

Here is the finished product of my mani! OOAK, with an accent of Keepsies!

I highly recommend that you check out Marbles for Polish! I know for a fact that she has some really amazing collections coming out shortly, and I would hate to see you all miss out!

Walmart Winter Beauty Box

Just like Target, Walmart puts out a seasonal beauty box. This one is considered a subscription with a re-occurring charge every three months. You can sign up here at any time! Price for this baby is $7 ($5 plus $2 shipping)!

Here’s what I got:

  • Jergens BB Body Correcting Skin Cream Sample ($11.97 for the full size)
  • Maybelline  Color Sensational Lip Stick in full size ($5.50)
  • Olay Fresh Effects Everything Off! Make Up Removal Wet Clothes Sample ($3.97 for the deluxe sample)

  • L’Oreal Oleo Therapy Oil Infused Shampoo and Conditioner Samples ($5.97 for the full size)
  • Maybelline $1 off Dream Wonder Foundation coupon

Jergens BB Body Correcting Skin Cream

This smells awful. Way too perfume-y for my liking.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Stick in Maple Kiss

I love this lipstick. The color is beautiful. It also wears really well. It’s a great dark neutral color.

Olay Fresh Effects Everything Off! Make Up Removal Wet Cloths

I gave these to my sister. She already uses and loves these. I figured I would share the love!

L’Oreal Oleo-Therapy Oil Infused Shampoo and Conditioner

I actually love these. They really hydrate and make my hair shine!

Coupons/ Sample packets: Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder and Nivea Coco Butter Body Lotion

All in all, I guess this box is worth it because the lipstick is worth over $5. I am disappointed considering how amazing the Fall beauty box was. Here’s to hoping the Spring box is better!

Target Women’s Winter Beauty Box

Let’s see, third times a charm to get this finished and posted – right?! I hate when life gets in the way of my blog!

Target has a seasonal beauty box. I had received the fall box, and was able to snag the Winter box! This time around, Target put out a Men’s and an all-natural box! I got all three for $20! Not a bad deal!

Here is my review on the Women’s Beauty Box:

  • Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen (Target Exclusive) ($12)
  • Revlon HD Lacquer ($7.99)
  • Hair Food Thickening Solution (Target Exclusive) ($11.99)
  • L’Oreal Butterfly Intenza Mascara ($7.99)
  • CoverGirl Eye Enhancers Kit ($4.49)
  • ChapStick Total Hydration Lip Care (Target Exclusive) ($2.99)
  • Laneige Water Sleeping Mask (Target Exclusive) ($23; full size)
  • Boots No. 7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum ($17.49-23.99; full size)
  • 20% off Women’s Apparel purchase coupon
  • $3 off a $15 more Beauty Department purchase coupon

Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Black Noir

I actually haven’t used this pencil yet, however I did swatch it and it looks like it will blend really well when I do get around to using it!

Revlon HD Lacquer in Garnet

I really love this color. It is a dark pink. However, I’m just not a fan of glosses!

Hair Food Thickening Solution

So far I haven’t used this product either. I haven’t had a hair cut in a while, until yesterday. Now that all my dead ends are gone I might try this little guy out!

L’Oreal Butterfly Intenza Mascara

I haven’t used this yet either. I’m super slacking on the reviews for this box!

CoverGirl Eye Enhancers Kit in Blushing Nudes

I love this little guy. I’ve kept it in my makeup bag for “on the run” makeup looks and love it. The pigmentation is surprisingly impressive. (Or my primer is the bomb – which it is… {Bare Minerals 5-in-1 Eye Primer})

ChapStick Total Hydration 3-in-1 Lip Care in Sweet Peach

I also set this one aside for now. I have enough chapstick open right now!

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

This is a sample size of this product. I actually hadn’t planned on using this until I just looked it up on Target’s website. It is a gel (rather than a cream) which is better for acne control (so I was told). Maybe I will give it a shot after all!

Boots No.7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Anti-Aging Serum

This went into the “save for later” pile!

The retail value of this box is $47.45. I didn’t include the two sample sizes because they don’t have a true “retail value”. I only spent $10 on this box, so I feel as though this was a great box!

I’ll keep everyone posted the next time the Target box goes up!

Ulta Haul!

I’m still playing post-Christmas catch up, and along the way I came across three orders I had placed with Ulta that I just have to share about.

Back in November, Ulta ran this awesome deal through ebates! (Which is another little something I MUST do a post on!) The deal was $5 off a purchase of $10 or more PLUS free shipping!!! WHAT?! It was too good of a deal to pass up on!

Here’s the full picture of all three orders:

So, before I go any further, I just want to point out that I spent under $21!

Order #1:

As we all know, I am a HUGE lover of the NYX butter lipsticks! Of course with this awesome deal I had to pick up a few I didn’t have. I decided to purchase Hunk and Licorice. These are two colors that I’d been eyeing but was unsure of because of how bold they are. I recently got more into dark/ vampy colors. These babies certainly do not disappoint!

The total retail value of this order was $11.98. I spent $7.47, plus free shipping and of course three skincare samples.

Order #2:

For this order, I decided to go a little crazy. I purchased the NYX Concealer stick in green. I had read that if you apply that over red marks before a flesh-toned concealer, it actually masks the blemish better (this really works, by the way!). I also decided to try one of the NYX Wicked Lippies in Stone Cold. It’s a really pretty silver color. On your lips, it looks more like just a glittery lipstick. I’m probably going to pair it over a pink lipliner!

The total retail value of this order was $10.98. I spent $6.40, plus free shipping and three fragrance samples.

Order #3:

With this order, I decided to break away from all my NYX purchases and try something new. I purchased four Anti-Bacterial Hand Sanitizers (by Ulta) in the scent mandarin mint. These were buy one, get one free. I also purchased a Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick (Kate Moss Collection) in the color 113. This lipstick is highly disappointing. The color is AWFUL on me (I guess because I’m so pale!) and the smell is also atrocious. Now, I have a funny story to tell about this order. I actually receive it twice (somehow). I still have no idea. I was only charged once and I didn’t realize I had gotten it twice until about three weeks ago when I found the extra box. So, I actually got eight hand sanitizers and two lipsticks. My second lipstick arrived smashed, so I was able to exchange that in store for a different color (104). I even got paid $2 (and change) for doing the exchange because those two colors are now discontinued!

The retail value of everything I received was $34.98!!! I paid a whopping $6.94! AND was refunded the $2 in store! Plus the free shipping and three ‘variety’ samples.

^ Close up of all the samples I received!

I just have to love Ulta and all of their crazy deals!

Happy shopping!

PopSugar Must Have – December 2014

Here I am once again, raving about PopSugar Must Have! $39.95/ a month for 6-7 full or premium sized products! It’s fantastic!

Here’s what I got:

  • SPUN by Subtle Luxury Speckled Metallic Scarf ($62)
  • Sparklepop Sydney Necklace ($42)
  • Canvas Dauville Platinum Bowl ($29)
  • Smashbox Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquer in Bordeaux ($24)
  • Knot & Bow Parcel Tags ($4)
  • William Sonoma Vanilla Bean Cupcake Mix ($14.95)

SPUN by Subtle Luxury Speckled Metallic Scarf

Well, this item right here, at a retail value of $62(!!!!!!!) makes this entire box well worth it. I love this scarf. I have worn it on multiple occasions. It goes perfectly with very nearly every outfit I wear! (I’m also wearing the Smashbox lip lacquer in this photo!)

Sparklepop Sydney Necklace

This is a 14 kt. gold plated necklace that is beautiful! I couldn’t take a good picture of it because of how shiny this baby is! My only problem with this necklace is that I very rarely wear gold. I’m a much bigger silver person.

Canvas Dauville Platinum Bowl

I have this little beauty sitting on my vanity with my earrings and bracelets in it! It actually matches the white cup I hold my brushes in, and the plate I keep under my perfumes!

Smashbox Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquer in Bordeaux

I’m wearing this in the photo of the scarf (above). It is a beautiful color. I expected it to be much darker than it actually is on because of how dark it looks in the box. It is decently pigmented and lasted for about six hours (give or take).

William Sonoma Vanilla Bean Cupcake Mix

I have no made this, and I have to say… who would pay $15 for a can of vanvilla cupcake mix? Sounds ridiculous to me… Eventually I’ll be really hungry one night and bake these up, but for now the pretty canister sits on my bookshelf.

I love my PopSugar Must Have. Retail of this box is $176! That’s insane! This box is awesome for trying new, high-end pieces!

Julep – After Christmas Deals (or Steals???)

Before I begin this blog post, I do have a little story behind it. I had originally decided that after Christmas I wasn’t going to spend money… Specifically money at Julep, since I had spent so much on pre-Christmas sales, Christmas presents, holiday needs, etc. I had this crazy idea that my boyfriend was going to propose to me on Christmas. I know, totally cliche and pretty annoying that I thought that, right? Well, wrong. He completely surprised me. Instead of proposing, I got nothing. Absolutely nothing. Of course I got amazing presents from my family and friends, but to not get anything from him, I was pretty upset. Regardless, he completely blew me away and proposed when the ball dropped on New Year’s Eve, which was honestly so much better than a Christmas engagement anyways. I was so upset by my now fiance(!!!) that I ended up breaking the “no-buy” I had placed on myself. I ended up making three separate purchases from Julep… Ooops???!!!

On the 26th, Julep opened up their Savvy Deals section of their website, which discontinued a lot of their holiday sets. I decided to take advantage of it. A very lovely blogger posted in my favorite facebook group (Julep Swap) and put out a bunch of $15 credits that she had received from people using her referral code. I was lucky enough to snag two of those bad boys. All in all, I spent a little over $40 on Julep’s site on the 26th. Here’s what I got!

The first order I placed contained:

Here is the Dancing Lipstick Trio. It is a darker version of the Dashing set. I do love these colors, they’re great for a vampy look. They’re so rich and creamy and they last for a few hours rather than a few minutes like some lipsticks.

After using one of those referral codes, I ended up spending $10 on this order!

The second order I placed contained:

  • Fa La La Nail Polish Trio – From L to R: Charisma, Margot, and Winnie ($30 retail, on sale for $9.99)
  • Confetti Nail Polish Trio – From L to R: Phoebe, Sydney, and Tammi ($30 retail, on sale for $9.99 – out of stock)

I also used a referral code on this order. I got all six polishes for $5!

This is my third (and final) order!

My Savvy Surprise contained – Julep Nail File, Hand and Cuticle Stick ($22 retail), Oxygen Nail Treatment ($18 retail), Mighty Nail and Cuticle Serum ($28 retail) – total retail of my surprise was $68.

I absolutely love the Julep Gel Eye Gliders. They’re very similar to the Urban Decay 24/7 eye liners. They’re smooth and blend well. This set had a variety of colors that I wouldn’t normal use (From top to bottom: Gold Champagne Shimmer, Cosmic Black Shimmer, Emerald Shimmer, Sepia Shimmer, and Violet Shimmer) and it included a sharpener!

For this order I spent $26!

All in all, I spent roughly $40 (due to taxes, boo!). However, the retail value of everything I purchased is nearly $300! That’s about 75% off the retail value!

I just love Julep and their sales!

Julep’s Naughty or Nice Mystery Box

Every month, Julep offers a mystery box for $24.99. The value is usually well over $100. Sometimes they will release a special polish that will be part of that box. Other times they release a certain beauty product that will come with the box.

This time around, the theme Julep went with was “Naughty or Nice”, as this was the December box! Julep posted two brand new polishes, Sue and Patricia, that would be apart of the box. I took a chance on the mystery box and this is what I received!

The total retail value for this box was $154! Paying $24.99 was a steal! Gotta love Julep!

Julep WOW Factor

Another awesome deal that Julep put out right before Christmas was a collab deal that they did with Good Morning America. Julep has partnered with GMA for several deals, and this deal did not disappoint.

Julep and GMA offered a Go Big Volumizing Mascara, Chatoya, and Rochelle (both polishes) for a whopping $12.50!!! Retail of this box is $40!

Of course I couldn’t settle for just the Wow Factor set. I added on the Dashing lipstick trio as well. This was a set I had my eyes on since their release. I ended up paying $18 for almost $100 worth of product!

1 2

I love these lipsticsk. I have used them repeatedly since receiving them! Absolutely beautiful colors! I’m starting to fall more and more in love with Julep’s makeup!

I also really like the Go Big Mascara. It’s not clumpy or flakey. It’s more of a subtle look, so I wear on those “I don’t feel like putting makeup on” days!

Julep Build Your Own Box

Back in December, Julep put out a fantastic deal. Six polishes in a gift box for $30. You were able to chose from a variety of different polishes. I ended up making two separate orders. I paid $44 in total for the two boxes and received 12 polishes I had been eyeing! Retail of these boxes would have been $168! I ended up paying about $3.70 per polish.

Here’s what I got:

BYO 12-8 1st

This was my first order. The first photo is off the packaging of the gift box. The second photo is of the polishes. From left to right they are…

Aretha (Aquamarine birthstone for March), Serena (Sapphire birthstone for September), Aislin, Lacey, Tracy, and Joni (Citrine birthstone for November)

BYO 12-8 2nd

Here is my second order! From left to right they are…

Amy, Donna, Kam, Mary Lee, Chatoya, and Nell.

Overall, I just found this to be an unbelievably deal. I was able to buy a lot of polishes that had been on my wishlist for a while. I’m really happy with my purchases!
