Julep – February 2015 – The Afterglow Collection

Julep’s monthly boxes are always my favorite time of the month. I love getting all the goodies from them!

Julep is a beauty subscription box. For $24.99 a month (or $19.99 for a three-month pre-paid subscription), you’ll receive three full sized products, catered to your beauty profile.

Also, you can click here to receive your first box for 50% off with the code WOW!

The February collection was titled the Afterglow Collection, featuring 10 new polishes, a “special gift” polish from Jane Park, a new eye brightener, glow highlighting powder, a fan brush, and two new lipgloss shades.

Here’s what I got:

1

I received the “Boho Glam” box (in the small purple box).

As Add-ons I received:

Here are the polishes:

3

From L to R: Hazel, Brandis, Hartleigh, Ada, Meta trio – Tilda, Bjork, Tyra

Here’s the make-up:

2

From L to R: Glow Highlighting Powder, Fan brush, Illume Eye Brightener, Blank Canvas face primer

My total for this month was $56. The retail of everything I received is $270!!! The Maven pricing would have been $216. I think that makes $56 an absolute steal!

I love my box yet again. Julep just seems to take all my money these days!

Target Women’s Winter Beauty Box

Let’s see, third times a charm to get this finished and posted – right?! I hate when life gets in the way of my blog!

Target has a seasonal beauty box. I had received the fall box, and was able to snag the Winter box! This time around, Target put out a Men’s and an all-natural box! I got all three for $20! Not a bad deal!

Here is my review on the Women’s Beauty Box:

1

  • Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen (Target Exclusive) ($12)
  • Revlon HD Lacquer ($7.99)
  • Hair Food Thickening Solution (Target Exclusive) ($11.99)
  • L’Oreal Butterfly Intenza Mascara ($7.99)
  • CoverGirl Eye Enhancers Kit ($4.49)
  • ChapStick Total Hydration Lip Care (Target Exclusive) ($2.99)
  • Laneige Water Sleeping Mask (Target Exclusive) ($23; full size)
  • Boots No. 7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum ($17.49-23.99; full size)
  • 20% off Women’s Apparel purchase coupon
  • $3 off a $15 more Beauty Department purchase coupon

Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Black Noir

I actually haven’t used this pencil yet, however I did swatch it and it looks like it will blend really well when I do get around to using it!

8

Revlon HD Lacquer in Garnet

I really love this color. It is a dark pink. However, I’m just not a fan of glosses!

7

Hair Food Thickening Solution

So far I haven’t used this product either. I haven’t had a hair cut in a while, until yesterday. Now that all my dead ends are gone I might try this little guy out!

6

L’Oreal Butterfly Intenza Mascara

I haven’t used this yet either. I’m super slacking on the reviews for this box!

5

CoverGirl Eye Enhancers Kit in Blushing Nudes

I love this little guy. I’ve kept it in my makeup bag for “on the run” makeup looks and love it. The pigmentation is surprisingly impressive. (Or my primer is the bomb – which it is… {Bare Minerals 5-in-1 Eye Primer})

4

ChapStick Total Hydration 3-in-1 Lip Care in Sweet Peach

I also set this one aside for now. I have enough chapstick open right now!

3

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

This is a sample size of this product. I actually hadn’t planned on using this until I just looked it up on Target’s website. It is a gel (rather than a cream) which is better for acne control (so I was told). Maybe I will give it a shot after all!

2

Boots No.7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Anti-Aging Serum

This went into the “save for later” pile!

The retail value of this box is $47.45. I didn’t include the two sample sizes because they don’t have a true “retail value”. I only spent $10 on this box, so I feel as though this was a great box!

I’ll keep everyone posted the next time the Target box goes up!

Ulta Haul!

I’m still playing post-Christmas catch up, and along the way I came across three orders I had placed with Ulta that I just have to share about.

Back in November, Ulta ran this awesome deal through ebates! (Which is another little something I MUST do a post on!) The deal was $5 off a purchase of $10 or more PLUS free shipping!!! WHAT?! It was too good of a deal to pass up on!

Here’s the full picture of all three orders:

1

So, before I go any further, I just want to point out that I spent under $21!

Order #1:

3

As we all know, I am a HUGE lover of the NYX butter lipsticks! Of course with this awesome deal I had to pick up a few I didn’t have. I decided to purchase Hunk and Licorice. These are two colors that I’d been eyeing but was unsure of because of how bold they are. I recently got more into dark/ vampy colors. These babies certainly do not disappoint!

The total retail value of this order was $11.98. I spent $7.47, plus free shipping and of course three skincare samples.

Order #2:

4

For this order, I decided to go a little crazy. I purchased the NYX Concealer stick in green. I had read that if you apply that over red marks before a flesh-toned concealer, it actually masks the blemish better (this really works, by the way!). I also decided to try one of the NYX Wicked Lippies in Stone Cold. It’s a really pretty silver color. On your lips, it looks more like just a glittery lipstick. I’m probably going to pair it over a pink lipliner!

The total retail value of this order was $10.98. I spent $6.40, plus free shipping and three fragrance samples.

Order #3:

2

With this order, I decided to break away from all my NYX purchases and try something new. I purchased four Anti-Bacterial Hand Sanitizers (by Ulta) in the scent mandarin mint. These were buy one, get one free. I also purchased a Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick (Kate Moss Collection) in the color 113. This lipstick is highly disappointing. The color is AWFUL on me (I guess because I’m so pale!) and the smell is also atrocious. Now, I have a funny story to tell about this order. I actually receive it twice (somehow). I still have no idea. I was only charged once and I didn’t realize I had gotten it twice until about three weeks ago when I found the extra box. So, I actually got eight hand sanitizers and two lipsticks. My second lipstick arrived smashed, so I was able to exchange that in store for a different color (104). I even got paid $2 (and change) for doing the exchange because those two colors are now discontinued!

The retail value of everything I received was $34.98!!! I paid a whopping $6.94! AND was refunded the $2 in store! Plus the free shipping and three ‘variety’ samples.

^ Close up of all the samples I received!

I just have to love Ulta and all of their crazy deals!

Happy shopping!

Julep – January Maven 2015 – The Chrysalis Collection

Julep’s monthly boxes are always my favorite time of the month. I love getting all the goodies from them!

Julep is a beauty subscription box. For $24.99 a month (or $19.99 for a three-month pre-paid subscription), you’ll receive three full sized products, catered to your beauty profile.

Also, you can click here to receive your first box for 50% off with the code WOW!

The January collection was titled The Chrysalis Collection, featuring 9 new polishes, new Luxe Lip Treatments, two new eye glider shades, and two new Orbital eye shadows.

Here’s what I got:

1

I once again switched from my normal Boho Glam style profile to the January It Girl Profile which included:

  • Janae ($14/ $11.20 Maven Price)
  • Margit ($14/ $11.20 Maven Price)
  • Shelly ($14/ $11.20 Maven Price)

As add-ons I received:

  • Casey ($14/ $11.20 Maven Price)
  • Luna ($14/ $11.20 Maven Price)
  • Holographic Chevron Nail Decals ($3.99)
  • Metamorphic Top Coat in Tyra (freebie for all Mavens who took their box! – currently unavailable for purchase)
  • Glycolic Hand Scrub (freebie for taking three add-ons! – $23/ $18.40 Maven Price)
  • Baby box of Junior Mints!

Here are the polishes:

2

My total for this month was $41. The retail of everything I received would have been at east $100 (not 100% sure on the full retail value because there isn’t a listing for the Metamorphic topcoats yet!). Even the 20% Maven pricing would have made the box at least $80. That’s at least a 50% savings!

If you want a colorful box that you’ll be excited to get every month I would highly suggest checking Julep out!

#BikiniReadyLifestyle

I received my Influenster voxbox last week and was so excited to try it!

I’m planning on doing a more thorough review on my #VitalityVoxbox tomorrow, but for now I want to talk about the Secret Weapon to my #BinikiReadyLifestyle sponsored by Bikini Ready Lifestyle’s new Energy Gummies!

influenster1

“New Bikini Ready Energy Gummies are a great tasting vitamin B-12 supplement with caffeine that acts as an energy booster. Along with a healthy diet and exercise program, this scientifically advanced formula helps boost your metabolism. Bikini Ready Energy Gummies are a guilt-free pick me up.
Bikini Ready Energy Gummies will help you become a healthier, lighter you.

  • Boosts Metabolism
  • Increase Energy

KEY INGREDIENTS:Vitamin B12, Caffeine”

That’s what the website says about this product. It’s a healthier alternative to coffee!

My secret weapon to having a #BikiniReadyLifestyle is something so simple, but most of us forget about. It’s self confidence. Personally, I have been so insecure about my body for 99% of my life. However, I have a wonderful boyfriend and fantastic friends who have pushed me into being a more confident person. I now do feel comfortable wearing a bikini. There were summers growing up where I wouldn’t even put shorts on because I was so insecure. Sure, I’m not stick skinny and I’ve never claimed to be, but I am beautiful in my own body.

This is my body, not yours, and your opinion of my body does not matter to me. 😀

Stay tuned for a full review on my Vitality Voxbox!

If you would like to join Influtenster and try some products for yourself, leave your e-mail in the comments and I’ll send you an invitation! Trust me, it’s well worth it!

P.S. I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
